“WhatsApp Business API” and “WhatsApp Cloud API” are not two rival products in 2026. Cloud API is Meta-hosted API of the WhatsApp Business Platform — the supported path for new integrations. “Business API” is the commercial/historical term that covered On-Premises API (hosted by the customer or BSP) and later Cloud API. Meta retired On-Premises; if an RFP asks for “Business API,” you should almost always read official Cloud API (via BSP or Tech Provider), not a WhatsApp Web bridge. 42agents uses Cloud API as a Meta Tech Provider and packages it white-label for agencies.
